Re-views.org | Samsung debuts corn-based E200 Eco cellphone.
Posted by Reviews in Cell Phone, Electronics, Gadgets on 08 14th, 2008Samsung’s new E200 Eco cellphone may not stand out very much based on its specs, which include a 1.3 megapixel camera and MP3 player functionality, but the company is hoping that folks will take notice of it for another reason: its casing is made of corn. Or, more specifically, a corn-based bioplastic, which has some drawbacks of its own but is becoming more and more commonly used these days. No word on a release ’round these parts just yet, but the phone (which also comes in packaging made from recycled materials) will be available in Europe sometime next month.

Re-views.org | Portable Bluetooth speaker should really be called BlueTorch
Posted by Reviews in Cell Phone, Electronics, Gadgets on 07 29th, 2008There is a new portable Bluetooth speaker system that looks a little more like a torch. It’s a nameless device, so for purposes of this post, I will call it the “BlueTorch”.
The BlueTorch supports profiles including A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, and HSP which means it can pair with either cell phones or portable media players. I could see this being more useful for Bluetooth capable PMP’s than cell phones, but I guess it would be good either way. The nice thing about the BlueTorch is that it also can connect to other devices using old school wires.
Additionally, the device sports 2 channels which each offer an output of 2 watts and comes with a frequency zone of 20Hz - 20kHz. Lastly, you can keep it playing by plugging it into an AC adapter or with USB connectivity.
It is set to be available in Japan for 7980 Yen, or around $76 US.
